Quality requirement: high polishing (without buffing mark, scratches and any voids on surface)

Product application: a massager used for back pain release.

Customer and Background

Customer: http://www.fascialrelease.co.uk , this part once made from full CNC machined aluminum block and high polishing process but changed to titanium alloy, the reason is that titanium alloy bring benefit for body. Another reason is casted titanium cost is very similar to full machined aluminum.

 

Stage 1 (Product development)

1)      Follow the customer requirement to design and make the aluminum mold to make the wax part, the key is the injection gate of wax part, the injection gate play a big role of porosities and voids on final part. Lead time 10 working days.

2)      After mold inspection passed, make the wax part from the mold and wax injection machine, the key is to check the smoothness of the edge and flatness on the bottom.

3)      Make the shell mold (zircon sand and colloidal silica slurry technology), total 13 layers to guarantee the shell strength.

 

4)      Cast the part (vacuum centrifugal casting process)

 

5)      Grinding and polishing to achieve the final part (the key process),

 

Stage 2 (Production)

300 parts in production after customer approved first article, lead time 25 working days.
